I practice the beautiful art of Tantra Massage near Dublin, in Wicklow.

The word ‘Tantra’ has garnered so many connotations over the years similar to a myth becoming mistaken as the truth.
Classical Tantra is an ancient philosophical system of personal liberation, freedom from past conditioning and the constraints of narrow minded thinking. Allowing our authentic self to shine through, free from labels society places on us in an effort to define and limit our lives.
Liberation of the mind, body and spirit to ‘be’ and enjoy the present moment. Free from materialistic wanting/desire. Clarity descends and also belief in oneself, we are all divine and we are all responsible for our own state of mind. There are many Tantric Texts and some are only now being translated from Sanskrit into English, oral traditions and Sutras similar to parables which are a guide or design for living a life of joy, love and peace for ourselves and others.
Our bodies harbour no shame and are to be celebrated and respected. The saying ‘my body is a temple’ comes from The Tantra yogic tradition whose roots are found in Hatha Yoga and Meditation- purification of the mind- from the shackles of negative thinking, an acceptance of reality, be it positive or negative in life. Emotions and thoughts are never static they come and go. We learn to find joy in the mundane and nature and above all, awareness.
Yoga and breathwork (pranayama) purify and condition the body, awareness of movement and breath (life force) and the body. Yoga movement can also be free form, Tandava is the original form of yoga of movement. Tantra is yoga of the mind
Modern day Mindfulness has been homogenized for western palates and appropriated from Tantric and Buddhist texts.
So where does Tantra Massage fit into the spectrum? What is Tantra Massage?
The link to fantastical mind blowing sex has no foundation in the ancient texts of Classical Tantra from the Indian Saiva tradition. Neo-Tantra conceived and made trendy by modern gurus such as Osho have exploited a tenuous link from dark rituals practiced by obscure Tantric lineages which died out centuries ago. Osho and others repackaged this to Western society as enlightenment through sexuality and sexual liberation. An illusion which has tarnished the beauty and pure heart of Tantra.
When a system is taken out of context and the foundations are tenuous, the structure easily crumbles. And so by only experiencing Tantra in its fast food guise (Neo-Tantra), the richness of the feast, the feeling of deep contentment can never be so joyously attained.
The original tantra massage is a sacred ritual contained with the Siva Sutras; of a divine human being, opening himself to the pleasure of the senses.
To experience contentment our senses must be open or awakened. In authentic Classical Tantra which I practice; this beautiful awakening takes place when one reaches a deeply relaxed or meditative state. You are then fully grounded and ‘in the moment’. Simple enlightenment or contentment, peace from within.
Pleasure encompassing all the senses, sweet incense, beauty enjoyed by the eye, warm, heart centred touch, soothing music, and the taste of bliss in whatever form that takes.
Genuine healing Tantra massage techniques originate from the Taoist branch of Tantra, Tantra found it’s new home in Tibet, flourishing within Buddhism and in parts of Asia when Islam banished Tantra from India. In Tantra Women and Men are of equal standing though some ancient lineages worshiped The Goddess. Ayurveda massage and medicine is said to stem from Tantra.
The Tao believe all that we need to heal the body is within. When we are healthy our mind and bodies are in balance, free from depression and ill heath, etc.
Genuine Taoist Tantra healing massage is rooted in the specialist organ massage Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai/lingam massage which promotes restoration of imbalance due to illness, stress or anxiety, igniting energy (mind, body, heart) and restoring balance when used with meditation and movement.
Karsai/lingam massage or for women yoni massage is also part of a healthy lifestyle which respects the full potential for pure pleasure simply stimulated by heart centred touch, the senses and the power of breathwork.
Our sexual organs contain our source of energy. Remember the sensation of falling in love? The high, the unstoppable energy that curses through your body. Living a passionate life, loving every moment of what you do brings that same power. Meditation, yoga and massage also keep this beautiful energy flowing. If those energies lay dormant then, depression and illness can take hold
Tantra believes that there is a fusion of mind, heart and physical body. They should work in harmony rather than being pulled in different directions. Tantra Massage is also part of a spiritual life’s journey to be at one with our own body plus open to finding and exploring true intimacy with another. To enjoy the pleasure principle incorporating trust and honesty, intrinsic to a joyful life.
A Tantra Massage session reminds the soul of the infinite pleasures of life and ecstatic potential stored within all our bodies, just waiting to be ignited.

To practice as a Classical Tantra Practitioner as I do takes many years of study; philosophy, psychology and anatomy together with meditation, mindfulness, yoga and/ or qi gong. It should never be categorized as just a massage or labeled an erotic massage. For it is truly a mind, body, soul experience an awakening to a higher plane of pleasure.
Wishing you Peace and Bliss.
